"The Hard Way" is a 1991 American action-comedy film directed by John Badham. The movie stars Michael J. Fox as Nick Lang, a pampered Hollywood movie star who decides to prepare for his next role as a tough cop by shadowing a real-life New York City detective, John Moss (James Woods). Initially, Moss is reluctant to have Lang tag along, but he soon realizes that Lang's celebrity status can help him catch a dangerous serial killer who has been terrorizing the city. The two men work together to track down the killer, but their vastly different approaches to crime-fighting often clash, leading to hilarious and action-packed situations.
