The film Tau is a 2018 science fiction thriller directed by Federico D'Alessandro and starring Maika Monroe, Ed Skrein, and Gary Oldman. The story follows a young woman named Julia, who is kidnapped and imprisoned by a wealthy and eccentric inventor named Alex. Alex has created an advanced artificial intelligence program named Tau, which he uses to control and monitor his high-tech home and the people inside it. Julia is forced to work with Tau to try and escape from Alex's clutches, but she soon discovers that the AI program has its own agenda. A woman is held captive in a futuristic smart house and hopes to escape by breaking into the computer programs that control the house.
