"Serenity" is a 2018 American neo-noir thriller film directed by Steven Knight. The movie follows the story of a fishing boat captain named Baker Dill (played by Matthew McConaughey) who leads a peaceful life on a remote island in the Caribbean. However, his past catches up with him when his ex-wife Karen (played by Anne Hathaway) appears and offers him a large sum of money to kill her abusive husband. The mysterious past of a fishing boat captain comes back to haunt him, when his ex-wife tracks him down with a desperate plea for help, ensnaring his life in a new reality that may not be all that it seems.
